Out With a...Fizzle...

What an anticlimactic way to end a blogging year....silence.

Don't worry, I have excuses. Like H1N1. It sucked. Evanie got an ear infection as a result and that was honestly probably the most horrible 24 hours I've ever spent. My poor poor screaming baby. At 1am on the second night of screaming I lost my wits entirely saying I was either going to take her in to the hospital for morphine or jump off the balcony with Evanie. Justin rescued both of us even though he had a soaring fever and rocked her until she finally fell asleep and then Praise God, when she woke up in the morning it was finally gone!

Also I've rediscovered a reading addiction. I actually counted it up the other day and I think I've read 28 books since Evanie's birth. Most of these books were aimed at 17 year old readers. I feel a little silly about this. And a little bit excited to start the next one. It's gotten to the point where I actually have to hide my books from Justin because I feel guilty. Especially when he comes home after work to no dinner and me in my pajamas, breakfast crumbs still scattered across the counter....

...that was an exaggeration.

Lets see, what else, oh yes, bronchiolitis. Evanie got it. And we were away for Christmas. And I've started babysitting a 2 1/2 yr old.

I think that's all of my excuses.

Not to worry, 2010 will, I'm sure, be filled with sporadic updates and stacks of pictures of the little munchkin. There are too many relatives who live far away....wait...make that ALL of our relatives live far enough away that there is currently no danger of me scrapping this blog altogether. The Grandmas and Nanas would rise in revolt and we wouldn't want that.

And on that note....

See how proud she is of her newest trick? She hit 5 months at Christmas and decided it was time to grow up so she started sitting.

And another one. I wonder if she'll always have a little crooked smile...

She also just started sucking her thumb and makes farting noises with her mouth. Not blowing raspberries, actual farting noises. Justin practiced with her and she mimicked him. I know, it's lovely.

Happy 2010!

Wow!! She is so cute!! So grown up sitting up!
What books have been reading? I think it is a great way for mothers to stay sane is reading, of course I thought before I was a mother, just as the oldest of 11, reading was a great way to stay sane, but it makes mothering much better too!!!
Those sickness sound awful!!! Well, the crashes of boys jumping off the bed onto the floor above me signal the end of computer time for now....have fun as Evanie gets older and starts jumping instead of just sitting!

Carolyn, DO NOT be ashamed of books aimed at 17 year olds! They are still fun then. When you grow up you have to read books where everybody gets cancer and dies. I don't want real life! I want pretend! This is why I read! P.S. I need to come and visit. ~ Grace
