1 Month Old

Highlights:
  • Evanie hit the one month mark yesterday.
  • Today at her weigh in she'd reached 9 lbs! Little porky! That's 1 whole pound since last week!
  • She graduated from her newborn diapers to size 1 in a day. One day they fit, the next day they didn't!
  • She's just started a tiny bit of cooing! So sweet!
  • She smiles a lot- more at women than at men but she's started smiling at Justin too!
  • She and her dad have a great time together. He does most of her baths and she looks at him adoringly during all of it! It's pretty precious to watch.
  • She has a temper. When she wants to be picked up and NOW she doesn't cry. She screams. There's a night and day difference. It's almost funny and a little bit scary.
  • She doesn't like her feet or arms swaddled so we swaddle her tummy. Sometimes if she's already asleep or super close to it we can swaddle her arms but often that wakes her and she demands to be freed.
  • She sleeps through the night 2-4 times a week and if she wakes up, it's only once. I can't express my gratitude enough! She's actually a really good sleeper and frequently (but certainly not always) falls asleep on her own in her crib.
  • She's not a "cuddler" so far. Sad for me. When she's sleepy her favorite position to be held in on her back lying straight out in front of us with her feet in our belly. It's practically a magic position.
I could go on and on because I find every little detail about her totally fascinating. Fancy that! But I will stop with that and leave you with a picture or two:

...or five...

This is what happens to her swaddles.

Napping with dad...only Evanie woke up at the sound of the camera turning on.

Bright little morning face! Little fuzz head.

Little gangster toque!

She didn't find it quite as cute as we did.

More to come...

I think all your details are neat and you will really appreciate writing them down. It's so easy to forget all their little habits. I wish I remembered more and could capture the memories in a little time capsule. I love it that Justin gives her baths!!! That something Joe started doing in the last year or so and it's such a special daddy/kid time.
